No Clue What The Title Should Be But Ok
Haven and Tarvas, my latest pick-up that cost me a kidney, white people phrases, and a great selection of picks. Buckle up, bitch.
Sorry I’m late, pls forgive.
Before we get into the business, I’m gonna quickly list out 3 things I would like to see picked up by some of y’all. For example, we’ve got this gorgeous 90s Patchwork Shirt by Y’s For Men and I’ve been looking at it every single day; wondering if I should pick it up, or have a proper meal the next day. Still TBD. Leaning towards having sleep for dinner and picking this up.
Next, we’ve got the Mackintosh Coat by Camiel Fortgens that I mentioned in my first post, except this one’s only $261USD. Girl, if someone doesn’t pick this up soon, I’m just gonna start yelling. I don’t care if my neighbours file a complaint, this apartment’s tiny as hell anyway. Finally, we have a pair of Oversized Double-Faced Wool Shorts by J.W. Anderson, aka the man who looks like he just rolled out of bed before showing face after every show. Big shorts 4 my big boys.
Honestly, just give me your card information and let me drive you into a debt. Don’t even think twice about it, just lemme do it.
Personal Pick-Up
Anyway, bitch, we got a lot to discuss in today’s newsletter.
I’ll start things off by saying that I splurged. The pals over at Neighbour let me know that new Comoli dropped a week ago, and if you didn’t read last week’s Substack (hoe), I feel some type of way towards this brand.
Like I said in the perfectly titled “Ravioli, Ravioli, Give Me the Comolioli”, you cannot sleep on Comoli drops as it will sell out faster than Oasis tickets. I, unfortunately, couldn’t pick anything up right away, but I did not look back in anger as I ended up picking up their Moleskin Zip-Up Jacket a few days later. No idea how it was still there, but I’ma tell you right now, it Definitely Maybe is the pick-up of the year for me. It’s got the right amount of weight to it, the hardware is subtle yet dazzling, the lining is stupidly soft and it’s got, and I can’t emphasize this enough, the perfect amount of boxy-ness to it.

Unfortunately, I did miss out on the jacket I originally wanted - the Beach Cloth Blouson by Yoko Sakamoto. If you’re unfamiliar with the brand, I recommend taking a look at their website when you have a minute. Their styling is always fantastic and there are a few pieces I’m looking at such as their Denim Jacket, Jazz Slip-On Shoes, and Classic Big Shirt.
Their denim jacket is hand-dyed, so it will evolve into something unique over time the more you wear it. Unlike me, I’m a stale-ass goblin that watches Seinfeld over and over again. I might be snagging the Beach Cloth Blouson elsewhere, and once I do pick it up, I will be Standing On The Shoulder of Giants.
Okay, no more Oasis talk.
Haven x Tarvas
In case you missed it, Haven dropped their collaboration with Tarvas, and let me tell you, they are stunningggggggg. Suede, leather, vibram outsole - I’m sold. If I had to pick one, I’d pick up the black pair, but this is one of cases where you can’t go wrong picking either one.
Tarvas, based out of Finland, are a fairly new brand. Their first collection was released in 2017, and by the sounds of it, their shoes are meant to be worn without worrying about the “unpredictability of the weather.” As someone that’s based in Vancouver, I’m very happy to hear this, even though I wear anything and everything without worrying about the unpredictability of the weather which is … a choice. Have I learned from my mistakes? Definitely not, as I sit here squeezing a litre of water out of my shirt after an afternoon stroll in the rain.

I’m beginning to see more and more brands have this almost spiritual-like perspective for their creative direction and vision, which is refreshing compared to the majority of what’s out there right now. Heal my aura, bitch. I was blessed to have thrifted a pair of their Explorers in a Chocolate Brown Suede recently for a ridiculous price. We up right now, peace be upon you.
I recommend checking out their website to see if there’s anything else by Tarvas that tickles your fancy. I’m only using terms from the white people phrase tier list from now on.
Picks of the Week
Alright, what y’all been waiting for. If you do pick anything up, please let me know and if this was at all helpful.
I’ve picked a few lifestyle-related things such as the Chance Incense Holder by Astier de Villatte, Black Glacies Vase by AYTM, “Do You Know What I Mean” by Juergen Teller, 1967’s Accident Film Poster, Sconce 3 or 4 by Alvaro Ucha Rodriguez, P.F. Candle Co. Incense (Sandalwood/Rose), Terry Bath Towel by Tekla & Auralee, and the Black 9005 Alowa Cap by Walter Van Beirendonck.
Le Labo was kind enough to send one of their candles recently. It’s their Cyprès 21 candle, and listen here pal, my apartment now smells acceptable. As if you’ve stepped into a beautifully decorated cabin filled with monsteras, birds of paradise, and I’m there greeting you with a cup of peppermint tea in hand. It’s spicy, yet subtle - like me!
I recommend picking one up as a gift for someone you love, or someone that lowkey reeks, as it would make a great Christmas gift.
As for clothing, it’s hard just to pick a handful of things each post. If you’re a paid subscriber, then I’m more than happy to create a more curated list for you and what you’re looking for.

Beautiful clothes, but terrible for paying rent. Great listening choice as usual. I like the playlists, especially Slowness.
