Detroit Lions Are 10-1
Paraboot, Yoko Sakamoto, Greg Laboratory, Charli XCX, Le Samourai, and fantasy football. Everything that's on my mind rn.
Man, it’s been a crazy few days. Charli XCX invading my dreams (she prob thinkin’ of me), anxiety levels high as hell, selling everything in my closet, and impatiently waiting for my glasses to come in. I’m also trying to run more often, but damn, these knees are busted.
Call me Oz Cobb the way I’m limping around tryna make money moves.
Personal Pick-Ups
Last week was very much a snip-snap, snip-snap kind of week. I was thinking impulsively and picked up an Unkruid Pullover that I was obsessed with when trying it on, but it didn’t integrate into my wardrobe very well. Don’t get me wrong, it’s definitely a hit and would look spicy on someone smaller than me. I just couldn’t layer it well without it crinkling up and looking off.
This return resulted in picking up the Comoli Denim Work Jacket. It’s a great jacket, comes with a sheepskin leather collar and will keep you warm during the winter for sure. However, I wasn’t completely in love with it. It made me realize that I was wearing Comoli-tinted glasses; ready to pick up anything and everything by the brand. In the end, after returning the work jacket, I picked up two pairs of shoes by the iconic French brand, Paraboot.
When I say these are beautiful, I mean these are beaaaaaaautiful. These shoes are for those that say “I’ve never gone hiking, but the idea of it sounds real nice to me.” Bitch, I am that person - I don’t go hiking, but getting a pair of the Clusaz has got me wanting to hike these mf mountains. Catch me sneaking right past ya in my cowhide leather shoes.
As for the second pair, I need a classic everyday shoe to replace my Lemaire Piped Slippers for a minute. I’ve beat these to the mf ground, so to help it recover a bit, the Michael Lisse Noirs will be taking lead. I did have a pair of Klemans as a cheaper alternative (Padror - Black, available at Wallace Mercantile), but the comfort level for me personally wasn’t there. With the Michaels, we are absolutely there as you can feel the difference in construction just two seconds into trying them on.
No shade to the Klemans, they’re a great alternative. I'm just really looking for long-term comfort and the Paraboots definitely provide that.
Yoko Sakamoto
After much deliberation, and missing out on their Beach Cloth Blouson at Neighbour, I ended up with my second favourite jacket by Yoko Sakamoto - the Quilting Work Jacket.

I’ve brought the brand up a few times now, but if you haven’t looked at their collection, I strongly recommend doing so. Their styling’s one that I’m resonating with more these days since I’m looking for versatility after years of, well, not having that and buying things impulsively. THOUGH I WILL SAY that said impulsive shopping did lead to purchases like my current mini Comme des Garçons collection, and I don’t regret picking up any of it.
Also, if you’re in Vancouver and need an oversized wool shirt, I strongly recommend picking this one up over at Neighbour. Last one, size Medium. It’s perfect.
Picks: Brown Garment Dyed Denim Jacket, Jazz Flat Shoes, Layered Dress, Work Stand Collar Jacket (also in Olive), Brushed Wool Big Shirt, Knit Coach Jacket.
What I’m Excited For
Last year, during the best summer of my life, I had the pleasure of meeting one of the most genuine and talented individuals I’ve ever met - the famous Greg Jackson.
Before meeting in-person, I was told to look into his brand, Greg Laboratory. I remember scrolling through the brand’s Instagram and the first thing that popped up was this futuristic, Matrix-inspired shoot that left me floored. The whole time I was wondering “how the fuck did they do this?” and how I can get my hands on literally anything from his collection.

The last two collections by Greg have been stunning, with highlights like the PC-FT23 Pants that sold like hot cakes, or the PC-IS-23 Shirt I missed out on. The creative direction has been strong and consistent each season, and it’s making me want some kind of Greg Lab short-film to tie into the collection. Everything is so beautifully shot and cinematic.
As for my favourite piece by the brand, it’s always been the PC-WJ22 Jacket. I’ll often get asked where I got it from, who it’s by, and so on. The craziest thing was seeing Jay-Z wear it during his performance for Tom Brady at his Hall of Fame Ceremony (that was a wild sentence to type).
The reason why I’ve mentioned Greg Laboratory is due to the upcoming release of his third collection on November 26th. Mark it on your goddamn calendars because this collection looks unreal from what I’ve seen so far.
Don’t sleep on this. For the love of god, do not sleep on this.

Final Notes
It’s been hard trying to write when I’m entering honk-shoo mode. I’ll be back to pumping out new posts on Wednesdays for paid subscribers and Saturdays for free subscribers. Also, bitch, we got Criterion back, so I will be dropping film suggestions like the little dweeb that I am.
Until then, I’ve dropped a new playlist that will help combat your seasonal depression since it’s full of BOPS. Just don’t shuffle.
Currently watching: Le Samourai & La Dolce Vita.

Beautiful clothes as usual and nice playlist. Genuine question tho. Curious as to how you manage a budget around buying clothes in that price range. Do you do it through a rotation of buying and selling or you spend less on other stuff? (Like no groceries this month, living on water)
